Ratner Knife

The art of bladesmithing is thousands of years old and found in cultures all over the world. My passion for knives began back in 1994, with the first hammering of steel to shape it into a blade, I came across the beauty of it.  Years later (from 2020), every knife I make by hand gets my special attention, I use the best steel to shape the best working blade. I take special care over the ergonomics and the balance of the blade. Importantly, I am accountable for its manufacturing from B to Z. Why from B? because I purchase the alloy already forged.
All other processes such as grinding, heat treating, finishing the blades, plus installing of handles, polishing, and casing are handled with passion and care.
This site brings together two different collections of knives.
1.    A unique collection carefully gathered from all over the world.
2.    My own home-made collection

I am using mostly traditional materials for knife handles and components like steel, wood (domestic and exotic), horns, and leather. However, I do not oppose using modern synthetic materials and stabilized woods.

However, among my work you can find not only Knives as well as Swords, Axes, Shields , Morning Star, Hllebards and even Spears.

In addition, at this site you can find some nice Wood Knives (produced by using Leatherman knife only) and some Old Drawings as ideas for knife design.
